Duchess of Atholl To Recontest Seat
IMMEDIATE BY-ELECTION LONDON, Nov. 24. The Duchess of Atholl has resigned her seat in Parliament and will fight an immediate by-election owing to a majority of the members of the committee of the Kinross and West Perth Unionist Association disagreeing with her opposition to the Government's foreign policy. A message on November 20 stated that the Kinross and West Perth Unionist Association decided by 273 votes to 167 to seek a candidate in place of the Duchess of Atholl, whose Liberal views were a thorn in the side of many Conservatives. It was stated that »he intended to stand as an Independent.
