Alleged Intention to Fire Revolver Into Air
YOUTH FACES LONG LIST OF CHARGES Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Last Night. Arrested in possession of a loaded revolver which, according to police evidence, he proposed to fire into the air to frighten anyono in the event of being disturbed during his escapades, Vernon Williamson, radio mechanic, aged 19, appeared before Mr. C. R. Orr Walker, S.M., in the Police Court. He admitted 14 charges of attempted and actual breaking and entering, theft, receiving stolen property and procuring a revolver without a permit. It was alleged that burglaries and attempted burglaries occurred in seven shops and three baches in New Lynn, Titirangi, Green Bay, Huia and the Oratia district between April 6 and September.ll, and that £45 6s 3d worth of goods and money was involved. The property mentioned in the charges included three radio sets, two pairs of binoculars, electrical equipment, a clock, petrol, an iron, cutlery, smoking materials, groceries, fruit and vegetables, confectionery, cordials, medical tonics and bandages, tooth paste, gumboots, shoe laces, fishing lines, battery cells and stamps. On 12 indictable charges accused was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence, and on two summary counts he was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within,a year*
