Although the facial eczema outbreak of last autumn did not affect the cattle or sheep in the north to any great extent, says the New Zealand Herald, the after-effects have been apparent in the lambing and calving returns. A feature that has been noticed is that in a few cases apparently healthy cows have, after calving, shown external signs of the disease, the teats showing affection. There is no suggestion of a rurthcr outbreak, but this showing is, as with sheep, the aftermath of the outbreak of last autumn.
