Feilding Amateur Athletic And Cycling' Club
YEAR’S ACTIVITIES REVIEWED The annual report of the Feilding Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club states that the year was commenced with a credit balance of 219 and closed with one of £3l 17s 9d and thus with do obligations to meet the forthcoming year will open with that substantial reserve. The report continues:— " Regarding the number of financial members of the club, it may be stated that very satisfactory progress has been made. There are 27 members m the cycling division and 16 members interested in the athletic side of the club’s activities, a total of 43. The value of total subscriptions amounts to £lO 12s 3d compared with £4 10s 6d last year. During the year two sports meetings were conducted, both being evening functions. The first one hell in February was in aid of the Cricket Association’s funds, while tho latter was run for the club’s benefit and netted a return of £ll 7s 7d. A considerable amount of work was entailed in connection with these fixtures and expenses were heavy. The thanks of the club are due to its members and to outside helpers, for their assistance. Donations amounted to £4 3s '3d and were helpful in raising the financial stability of the club. From a competition a profit of £6 19s 4d resulted. On tho expenditure side affiliation fees and registration of members absorbed £8 10s and as already mentioned orders and points prizes 19 competitors accounted for over £9. Prizes for tho road race on September 3 totalled over £5. Thanks are duo to the trustees, Messrs 11. Smithers and G. Groombridge, who have acted in that capacity for some years, to the lion, auditor, Mr. K. Little, and to Mr. A. McGregor for his outstanding interest in the cyclists during the road season, to those who gave- douations and to Mr. A. Hendry and Mr. Iv. Little for offers of trophies. "Cup winners: The Smithers Cup was won by A. Allen, tho Levy Cup by C. Fisher, tho Treasure Cycle Cup by A Eade. The Bain Cup was not competed for.”
