The horse was removed from his sumptuous ' box, specially constructed for him, at Mr. Benson’s stud at Chevcley to New- ' market. The complicated operation, ' rarely attempted, was performed, and the veterinary surgeon said that it is ’ not yet possible to know whether the operation will prove successful. * Mr. Marcus Marsh, tho Lambourn c trainer, who prepared Windsor Lad for his series of triumphs, which netted ’ more than £36,000 iu stake money, said ’ Windsor Lad showed no symptoms of the trouble when in training. Mr. Martin Benson bought the colt 1 for £50,000 from lI.H. the Maharajah of ’ Rajpipla after ho had been beaten in ’ the 1934 Eclipse Stakes.
