TO-NIGHT—BLOMFIELD v. NUMA Reservations can still be made at Collinson and Cunninghame’s for the big professional bout to bo staged tonight at the Opera House. Two of the biggest and best mat-men in the Dominion to-day arc the principals in this bout and tho result is by no means a foregone conclusion. Leo Nutna lost to Lofty Blomfleld on Monday night, but put up sucli a wonderful showing and was as near as a toucher to being a winner in the last round, the big New Zealander having to call up all his reserve of strength and resources to stave off defeat. Monday night’s bout in Wellington was a great thrill and there is every indication that the same tactics v» ill be adopted in Palmerston North. The preliminary bouts are carefully selected amateurs who are matched with a view to the winners repro sen ting tho district in tho Wellington provincial championships, and should they there run out the winners m theii sections to represent Manawatu iu tho New Zealand championships. This should make for keenly fought out preliminaries and place the spectators in a receptive mood to appreciate to the full the wrestling of tbo well-matched professionals.
