Discovery of Human Remains

POLICE TO INVESTIGATE Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 5. , A small party of police left Wellington this morning for the place on the coast about 11 miles south of Terawhiti Station, where a shepherd who found part of a human cranium about three weeks ago, and subsequently found more bones, believed to be human. ] The additional discovery was made two or three days ago, but as the Tara- ] whiti Stream was in flood it was thought advisable to postpone the police investigation until to-day. The bones were apparently washed in from the sea by tides and the southerly winds prevailing recently. It is considered un- 1 likely that identity will be established. 1
