Refresher Courses in Agriculture

TEACHERS TO ATTEND AT MASSEY AND LINCOLN COLLEGE!. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night.

Approval to holding refresher courses in agriculture for teachers during the next school vacation, beginning on August 22, has been given by the Minister of Education (Hon. P. Fraser). The courses, he said in an interview this evening, would bo held at Alassey and Lincoln Agricultural Colleges for teachers from the North and Bouth Islands respectively. They would be conducted by the staffs of the two colleges, with the co-operation of officers of other institutions interested in agricultural and horticultural prob-

Fraser. 4 4 They will be drawn from the ranks of Education Board agricultural instructors and from teachers of agriculture in post-primary schools throughout the country. Each college has drawn up a syllabus of work, covering about a week and dealing with a wide range of topics which are of importance to the farming community and to the young farmers who are the particular care of the teachers who will be attending the courses.” No such refresher courses have previously been held in the Dominion.
