All Blacks' Success

Policy of One Selector Justified NO FEARS FOR SOUTH AFRICAN TOUR United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyr lgh t. Received Thursday, 9.40 p.m. BRISBANE, Aug. 4. With the tour now well past half-way the All Blacks’ managers feel justified in viewing the results of the New Zealand policy of one selector and declaring it an unqualified success. They are keen that an expression of appreciation be passed on to Mr. N. McKenzie. The introduction of new blood has unquestionably converted a slow team into thj speediest one. The managers feel that New Zealand need have no fear now of the result of the visit to South Africa in 1940. They modestly refrain from undue comparison between tho touring All Blacks and the teams met in tho smaller centres but ■observers here are convinced that the points tallies could have been much larger had not tho visitors held plenty in reserve under instructions not to take risks on tho hard grounds at Newcastle and Toowoomba and the mud at Wellington (New South Wales,) Tho All Blacks go into Saturday’s Test full of confidence and hopeful of returning to New Zealand an unbeaten team. To-day they gave Mr. McDonald entire satisfaction during training. They will have ligh' .practice to-morrow. Doctor Adams is greatly pleased with the All Blacks’ fine record in the small number of casualties. All the members of the team are fit except Wesney and Carson who are still being handled carefully but are training regularly. The team had a pleasant time to-night as guests of the New Zealanders in Queensland.
