Waituna and Masterton Families Unite

McLean—too good An unusual combination of white lace over gold satin was worn by recent Masterton bride, the simple gown having as its only trimming a biifcch of orange biossom caught to the neckline by a large cameo brooch which had belonged other late grandmother. The 1 bride was Ella Alice, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Toogood, Ngaiana, Masterton, and the bridegroom. Donald Cunningham, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. McLean, of Waituna West, LeUding. The ceremony was performed by the vicar of Tinui, the Rev. Mr. Dobbs, and Mrs. James Andrew presided at the organ. The church had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride and the flowers provided a lovely setting for the bride as she walked up the aislo escorted by her father.

The bride’s dress had a very full train and she wore an embroidered veil caught to the head with circlets of orange blossom. The flowers she carried were water lilies, carnations, Christmas roses and freesias, with streamers of spring bulbs. Miss. Elizabeth Toogood, sister of the bride, and her • cousin, Miss Oliveue Laing, were the two bridesmaids and were dressed alike in frocks 'of dull pink embossed sharkskin, with pale blue headbands and shoes. Their bou* iquets were of pink camellias, cyclapicri and heather, and both wore the bride ! groom’s gift of rhinestone necklaces. Little Miss Anne Taylor, a cousin of the bride, made a pretty flower girl in her frock of pale blue georgette, and she carried a basket of flowers. Mr, M. McLean was the best man and Mr. Ivan McLean the groomsman. Miss Joyce Moodie presented the bride with a silver horseshoe as she left the church.

Mrs. Toogood later received many guests at her beautiful home, * 4 Ngaiana,” wearing a frock of navy nacrepainted floral silk, with a hat to tone and the flowers -she carried were violas, freesias and narcissi. Mrs. McLean assisted, wearing a frock of wine silk crepe pompadour with hat to tone, and she carried a bouquet of camellias and wine cyclamen. The bride travelled in a brown costume and peach-bloom hat and brown accessories. The happy couple, when leaving the house, were piped away by the bridegroom’s father, Mr. D. H. McLean.
