Manawatu Drainage Board
MONTHLY MEETING HELD. There were present at the monthly meeting yesterday of the Manawatu Drainage Board: Messrs W. E. Thomas (chairman), J. Collis, K. Tanner, F. J. Kassell, H. R. Green and C. H. Prouse. Arising out of the blockage of drains oy fallen trees, it was decided to notify several settlers that, unless they are removed immediately, they will be shifted by the board at the expense of the settlers concerned. The overseer (Mr M. Wilson) reported that improvement work at the lower end of Burke’s drain had been completed, and tho plant had now been removed to Holden’s bridge. Repairs to the Mangaone stream stopbanks had been completed to Rangitikei line. The following drains had received attention: Sutherland’s, Cloverlea, Clausen’s, Russell’s, Kairanga-Bunnythorpe Toad, Mitchell’s (2), Longbnrn, Blackmore >, Gil Hansen’s (portion). Whiskey creek is practically completed to Rangitikei line.
