Feilding High School Old Pupils
KIMBOLTON GATHERING At Kimbolton on Saturday evening the Feilding Agricultural High School Old Pupils' Association held a reunion gathering, those present participating in a short dance programme which was followed by a talk by Aliss Enid Cleaver, an old girl of the school. Miss Cleaver gave an interesting account of her experiences in England in Alay, 1937, when St. John Ambulance teams from all over the Empire took part in competitions and tests. She stated that the New Zealand team was at first somewhat at a loss, for in New Zealand the patients for their tasks are dummies bearing a label naming the injury, whereas in England the patients were actors and actresses from the Elstreo studios, trained' in some cases to be most awkward and difficult to deal with. The speaker gave accounts, too, of the several occasions on which the St. John Ambulance teams were entertained by members of the Royal Family, who apparently take a keen interest in the voluntary work of the organisation. Aliss Cleaver also described her team's visit to Lord Bledisloe's home, where they were the first to inspect his New Zealand museum. Aliss Cleaver concluded her most enjoyable talk with a description of her trip Home. A vote of thanks to the speaker was proposed by Air. R. H. Trevenard and carried with acclamation. Air. L. J. Wild followed with a brief account of tho four occasions on which he met Lord Bledisloe, telling the gathering, also, some of his observances in America.
Dr. Kolb, who with Airs. Kolb, was most enthusiastically welcomed to the function, spoke for a few minutes on his impressions and observations during the six months lie has been in New Zealand.
After supper, dancing was carried on until midnight, when a very pleasant and satisfactory reunion was conclud-
