Changeable and Cold Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Pressure is still relatively high over southern New Zealand while a depression is approaching the Auckland Peninsula from the west. A shallow depression is located also over the south-west Tasman. Winds: Rather variable with easterlies to southerlies predominating; force light to moderate but freshening especially about and north of Cook Strait. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough to rough at times north of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura; elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman: Moderate to strong north-east to south-east winds; strong at times in the northern portion, with rough seas. Elsewhere moderate with inodorate seas.
Weather: Changeable over the North Island with occasional rain; snow on the high levels and hail in places. Alairily fair to fine over the South Island, but some scattered showers probable there also, but especially in eastern areas. Temperatures.- Cold with some hard frosts. YESTERDAY’S WEATHER. Palmerston North: Sunshine, light wind. Alasterton: Sun and cloud, calm. Wellington: Showers, moderate wind. Blenheim: Sunshine, calm. Nelson: Sunshine, calm. West Coast: Sun and cloud, calm. Christchurch: Overcast, light wind. Timaru: Sun and cloud, calm. Dundein: Cloudy, calm. Invercargill: Sun and cloud, light wind. YESTERDAY’S TEMPERATURES Maximum: 46 degrees F. Minimum: 35 degrees F.
