Drama Festival of Girl Citizens
The Y.W.C.A. Girl Citizens on Saturday evening last held a drama festival, which is becoming an annual event. The plays were as follows:
“Far, Far Away," by Philip Johnson, produced by Aliss Ruth Lees. Two scenes from "Alice in Wonderland," produced by Miss P. Fuller. "Three Pills in a Bottle," a fantasy, produced by Aliss H. M. Saunders. "Tangled Skeins," a Victorian comedy, produced by Aliss M. Matthews. The judge was Mrs. S. J. Bennett, who placed the plays in the order named, and commented on each. Her advice to the girls was to try to remember to speak audibly and much more slowly, and to the producers to concentrate more on grouping and making full use of the whole stage. The stage effects were very pleasing, and the dressing particularly good. The junior citizens added to the programme a musical tableau on Health, which was excellently dressed and carried out, and much enjoyed, and the evening concluded with Aliss Saunders’ thanks to Mrs. Rennet*
