Pressure has risen considerably, however, over the southern portion of the Dominion, an anti-cyclone now being located to the east of the South Island. Winds: Between north-east and southeast prevailing, force mainly moderate at first but freshening, especially over the North Island and gradually tending more northerly. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough to rough on the East Coast and north of Farewell Spit; elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman. Moderate to strong north-easterly winds and rough seas.
