Rebel Onslaught Surprises Loyalists
HUGE MUNITION DUMP CAPTURED Received Monday, Midnight. BURGOS, July 25. Illustrative of the Republicans ’ be wilderment over the Nationalist onslaught in the Estremadura the latter captured a munition dump at Castuera containing 10,000 artillery shells and millions of cartridges, also thousands of cattle. A Madrid message states that three were killed and 33 injured in last night’s shelling. The Chilean Embassy was damaged. A Gibraltar message states that the Nationalists have released the Norwegian steamer Kitty Brovig taken to Ceuta on Saturday for examination of the cargo. The Norwegian steamer Tirranna wirelessed that she was bombed west of Tangier on Saturday. FRANCO CLAIMS SUCCESSES SARAGOSSA, July 24. General Franco claims that his Estremadura offensive has been successful, resulting in the capture of Castuera, with many prisoners. Tho rebels claim to have captured the villages of Medellin, Esparragosa, Quintana, Laserena and Higuera.
