Fatality in Westland
HOKITIKA, Last Night. A fatality occurred in Main street, Rimu, this afternoon, when Charles Francis Mercy, a resident of Rimu, aged 51 years, formerly a horse trainer, was overtaken while walking and was knocked down by a motor lorry driven by Clifford Hende. His head w r as crushed and death was instantaneous. He was unmarried.
