Differences Overcome
N.S.W. CABINET SPLIT United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyrlgnt. SYDNEY, July 13. A meeting of the United Australi* Party has apparently overcome the dtf Acuities in the New South Wales Cabi net. The meeting lasted for six hours, after which the Premier, Mr. B. S. B. Stevens, stated that it had served the excellent purpose of allowing member* to express their views and had ended on a note of cordiality. A section of the Sydney Press recently hinted that all was not well with the New South Wales Ministry. The origin of the trouble, it was said, was the recent reconstruction of the Cabinet, when the Premier dropped Captain F. A. Chaffey and Major J. B. Shand, respectively Colonial Secretary and Assistant Minister, both of whom were said to be very bitter. They had a number of staunch supporters in the Government Party who were suggesting that Mr. E. S. Spooner. Minister for Local Government, should replace Mr. Stevens, in order to restore confidence in th® leadership of the Government.
