Prominent Figure Passes
HON. H. A. RUSSELL WELLINGTON, Last Night. At 10.19 last evening, in th 6 House of Representatives, the Prime Minister ah* nounced with regret that he had just received word of the death of Hon. H. A. Russell, a member of the Legislative Council, and would move an appropriate motion to-morrow. The House rose at 10.20 p.m. The late Hon. Harold Arthur Russell, member of the Legislative Council since 1934, was a w6ll-known sheepfarmer of Hawke’s Bay. He was a son of th 6 late Sir William RuSSell, former Prime Minister of New Zealand, and was a prominent member of a great number of Hawke’s Bay public bodies and associations. Bom in 1871, he was educated at Bradfield College, England. A masterly polo player, he started the Hawke’s Bay Polo Club in 1892, and captained the side which won the Saville Cup in 1906.
