Fire in New Plymouth
J. R. MCKENZIE’S STOCK DAMAGED Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night. A fire destroyed hundreds of pounds worth of stock at tho New Plymouth branch of J. R. McKenzie, Ltd., tonight. The fire damage was confined to the storerooms upstairs, but practically the whole stock of the shop was satur ated with water.
Denso smoke was seen iu King street just after seven and two engines turned out. Leads were run to the front of the building in Devon street and the rear in King street, but it was some time before tho outbreak was quelled. Details of the insurance issued by Lloyd’s were no.t. available to-night
