Threaded Railway Strike in Queensland

A serious railway strike is threatened in Queensland due to the intention of the Minister of Railways to impose fines on three railwaymen for attending a stopwork meeting. A vote is being taken on Sunday to decide whether a general strike will be precipitated, probably involving New South Wales. A large percentage of railway employees in Queensland is opposed to direct action.
