Claim Recapture of Hukow
BOMB-THROWING IN SHANGHAI Received Thursday, 7.20 p.m. SHANGHAI, July 6. The Chinese commemorated the anniversary of tho war by attacking the Japanese on a 25-mile front between Pengtseh and Hukow, on the south bank of the Yangtze-kiang and claim to have retaken Hukow. SHANGHAI, July 7. Three bomba thrown simultaneously on a bund at 6 a.m. marked the beginning of the first anniversary of hostilities. The objectives of the bombs were the Japanese sentry posts, the headquarters of the Japanese Gendarmerie and the Yokohama Specie Bank. One Chinese was killed and one injured. Japanese military and police have formed a cordon around the area.
