Poor Milk in Schools
TWO CHRISTCHURCH DAIRYMEN FINED Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, July 6. ! Two dairymen who supplied milk dis tributed in schools were fined £4 end £3 respectively in the Magistrate’s Court to-day when they were charged with selling milk which did not conform to required standards. Mr F. l'\ Reid, S.M., presided, and Mr T. Pargeter, 6f the Health Department, prosecuted. The milkmen were Michael Dermcd Baker and John Bell, of Chaneys. Both men pleaded guilty. Baker was filled £4 and Bell, who appeared on three charges, was fined £3 and costs on the first charge and costs only on the remaining two. “It seems a pity that we cannot ha\o wholesome milk to start with,” said Mr Pargeter, when prosecuting Bell. “Three samples taken from Bell's milk were very bad ones.” WARNING TO ‘ft'OMEN.
