Excellent Concert Aids St. David’s Church Funds

One of the best concerts ever staged ut Terrace End was that organised by the choir of St. David’s Church to aid [the church funds and held last week. The accommodation was taxed to the 'utmost with an audience fully appreciative of the excellent items presented. Following was the programme: Part sou ,r s Townswomen’s Gleo Circle, led bv Mrs. Bigham; pianoforte solo, Mr. A. Pierard; contralto solo, Mrs. Gardiner (Wellington); elocutionary item, Miss F. Whittaker; part songs, Townswomen’s Gulid Glee Circle; vocal solos, Mr. H. Pierard; selections, Palmerston North Amateur Accordeon Band; vocal solo, Mrs. Bigham. All the items were enthusiastically recalled. Mrs. H. Pierard assisted as accompanist. Further pleasure was provided by members of St. Andrew’s Drama Club in a well-rehearsed play-reading directed by Mrs. Bowler Watson, those taking part being Mesdames Mortland, Glenj dinning, Allen, Miss Thompson, Messrs. I Lodger Brown and Graham Driver. At the conclusion of the programme ■ Mr. J. Murray (choirmaster) returned 'thanks to the assisting artists and to the audience for such splendid support Buffet supper was later enjoyed.
