Nazis Ban Montessori
An extensive “purge’* of school text-books and the contents of public libraries has been ordered in Vienna The following are among the cate gorios of works to be banned. Books praising English, French, and American culture as compared with German; books supporting pacifism and League of Nations ideas; atheistic works and books ‘ 1 over-emphasising religion”—for example, work by Christian scientists and adventists; works by Jews and their supporters; psycho analytic books and the works of D Montessori, the woman educationist.
