JOHNSONVTLLE SALE Messrs. Wright, Stephenson ana Co., !Ctd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on Johnsonville sale held yesterday as follows: We offered a large yarding of cattle with au average yarding of sheep. Only a few pens of prime I heavy bullocks came forward. These met with a ready sale with prices easier to the extent of 10s per head on last week’s. Unfinished and light-weight bullocks were easier to the extent of 15s per head. Prime quality cows and heifers met with fervent competition with prices showing uo late action, while lightweight and unfinished sorts were not wanted. Runners and vealers met with no alteration. Only a few' pens of extra prime heavy wethers came for ward. These met with good competition at prices firm on last week’s, while plain and unfinished sheep were easier to the extent of 2s to 2s fid per head. The yarding of lambs was of indifferent quality, with little demand. CLEAKING SALE AT GLEN OROUA I Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held one of the most successful sales of dairy cows this season on Monday last on account of Mr. H. J. Harris. The dairy herd of 85 cows were of | outstanding quality and in splendid condition due to calvo July and August, j There was a largo attendance of the public and competition was animated throughout the auction. For the cows coming to profit, the line averaged £l3 15s and for the herd of 85 cows, which included several cows which had calved two and three months, aud three-quarter cows, the average was £ll 6s. CLEARING SAXE AT LINTON DalgctY and Company, Limited, report having held a successful sale of dairy cows on account of Mr. A. J. McEvedy on Wednesday last. There was a good attendance of the public, who bid keenly for all the early calvers at prices ranging from £7 5s to £lO ss. Late calvers were not in great demand and sales were made from £6 to £. j. There was good competition for the Shorthorn cross dairy heifers, which realised £5 15s to £9 7s 6d. Sows due to farrow in August realised from £4 10s to £6. Milking machines, £27, and sundries made full market rates. CLEARING SALE AT PALMERSTON NORTH Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held a dispersal sale on Thursday last on account of Mr. J. W. Spooner, whose lease had expired. There was a large attendance of the public, and we report a most successful sale. The dairy herd, which were in good condition, sold well at prices ranging from £7 to £l2; weaner heifers realised £2 17s; horses, one 7yr. gelding £27 30s, 2yr. colt £l6, hack and harness horse £l2. Competition was keen for the mangolds and hay and approximately 00 tons of mangolds were disposed of at from 15s 6d to 18s a ton, and the hay from 3s to 3s 3d per bale.
