QUEEN MARY’S PURCHASE LONDON, June 11. A picture of ‘ ‘ Coronation Day, 1937,” by Mr. Charles Cundall, R.A., which was bought at the Royal Academy by Queen Mary, and which is still on view at Burlington House, was pre- ! seated to the King as a birthday gift from Queen Mary and Royal Family. Later it was returned to the Royal Academy “for the duration of the exhibition. ’ ’ Mr. Cundall, it is stated, has done well out of the Academy Exhibition. Besides “Coronation Day,” priced at 350 guineas, he has sold three other pictures, which, at the moment, is this year’s individual record. Mr. Cundall is going to Paris for the New English Art Club Exhibition.
