Fairly General Rain Per. Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. A rather deep depression was centred i wost of Greymouth at 3 p.m. and will I cross tho South Islaud to-night. The pressure is still relatively low over south-eastern Australia, however, and soveral secondary depressions arc likely to follow. Winds: Moderate to strong westerlies in the northern part of the North Island and the southern half of the South; otherwise moderate to strong northerlies at first but a chango to winds between north-west and southwest becoming general by morning. Boas (New Zealaud waters): Seas moderate on the east coast of the South Island; elsewhere rather rough to rough. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong south-west to north-west winds; seas rough but moderatiug somewhat. Weather: Unsettled with fairly general rain; some heavy falls probable in the South Island, especially in and west of the raugos; becoming more changeable to-morrow. Tomporntures mild.
