R. M. McKenzie, Atanawatu’s representative in the All Black team shortly to visit Australia, is to receive tile congratulations of the Alanuwatu Rugby Union on having been selected and also on his appointment as vicecaptain. Speaking at last night’s ipeeting of the union, Mr. A. M. Ongley, the president, Said that McKenzie had created a record unique in Manawatu Rugby history in that ho had been selected for three overseas tours.

Auckland estates valued lor probate include that of tho late Mr. Frederick Walter Wilson, a director of Wilson and Horton, .Ltd., the value being under £2SO,GOO. The legacies include the sum of £2OOO for distribution among the employees of the firm. Other estates include those of Mr. George Sedgwick Kent, a solicitor, for £24,000; Mr. Daniel Holland, a retired mariner, for £15,000; and Mr. Robert Dawson, u farmer, of East Tamaki, for £l-1,000.

Batches of blueguru piles for use in the reconstruction of tho East Coast railway which was considerably damaged in the April floods, are arriving at the Napier railway station from the Waipulcurau district. About 100 piles are to be used in the work and on arrival at Napier are shod and ringed at the top before they are sent on up the line. Some of the piles are 73 feet in length, and they arc to be used as temporary and permanent piles in bridging gaps where serious washouts have occurred.
