Tararua Power Board
NEW OFFICE IN PAHIATUA REPORT OF SPECIAL COMMITTEE The special committee set up to consider the question of inadequate accommodation at Pahiatua for offices and showroom, formed by Messrs. J. D. Wilson, P. Davies, W. Britland and A. W. Bisset, made the following recommendations to the Power Board. “That this committee, being impressed with the inadequacy of office and showroom accommodation on the Main street, Pahiatua, makes the following recommendations to tho board: (1) That the board acquire that portion of land on the Main street, Pahiatua, between Mr. J. D. Wilson 7 s property and the old Trocadero, having a frontage of 49 feet, with tho intention to build thereon three sale shops, one to be occupied by the board and two for letting; (2) that Mr. A. W. Bisset collect all useful information as to area and price, with power to secure an option over tho property for three months on a deposit of 10s; (3) that the secretary-manager consult with Mr. F. H. Daniels, of Masterton, with the object of obtaining a rough estimate of the cost of building; (4) that the sec-retary-manager make out a case for submitting to the Public Works Department showing tho necessity for the scheme and the financial aspect of the proposition. 77 The report was referred back to the committee, Mr. Brechin’s name being added to the personnel.
