Meeting of Executive SEVEN-A-SIDE TOURNEY On Tuesday eveuiug the management committee of tho Bush llugby Union met in Pahiatua, there being present Messrs. R. J. Smith (chairman), W. J. Henderson, R. B. Humphrey, J. Waters, S. Olliver, M. Reichenbach, C. C. Smyth, O. Stone and D. R. Salter. Au apology was received from Mr. C. H. Wilton. At the outset of the meeting the chairman referred to tho death of Mr. Charles Chatwin, whoso father, Mr. G. W. Chatwin, had been a former president of tho Union and had himself taken a prominent part in Bush Rugby. A letter of sympathy is to be forwarded to the relatives of deceased by Mr. W. J. Henderson on behalf of the Union. The New Zealand Rugby Uniou advised that all applications for reinstatements must be endorsed with the approval of the Union in whose territory the player played under another code as well as by the Union forwarding the • application before submission to the New Zealand Union.—Received. The following transfers were approved: G. Phillips, from Pahiatua to Hamua; C. R. W. Adams, from Pirates, Wellington, to Hukanui. Mr. W. Ryan asked tho union to supply rule books as the referees were somewhat In the dark over certain matters. —The secretary reported that rule books had been obtained from the New Zealand Union and intimated that they would be passed on. It was decided to close nominations for the senior seven-a-sido tournament on Tuesday, May 31. To get over the lack of a junior competition it was decided to grade all the teams beaten in the first round for a B competition and give the winners the junior seven-a-side cup. Week-end Fixtures. The following are next Saturday’s fixtures and Teferces appointments:— Mangatainoka v. Marima, at Alangatainoka (Mr. F. Hosking). Hamua v. Eketaliuna Old Boys, at Hamua (Mr. C. Stringfellow). Nireaha v. Konini, at Nireaha (Mr. W, Ryan). Pahiatua v. Hukanui, at Pahiatua (Mt. C. Kendall). Third Grade. (Starting at 1 p.m.) Nireaha v. Mangatainoka, at Nireaha (Mr. W» Udy). • Hukanui v. Pahiatua, at Pahiatua (Mr. C. Skilton). Eketaliuna Old Boys, a bye. A discussion took place concerning playing representative fixtures during which it was mentioned that there were several games to be got off apart from Bebbington Shield fixtures. It was also pointed out that club football should not be penalised for the sake of representative fixtures. A suggestion was then made to play a representative match on a Tuesday afternoon as they would be certain to got a good gate in view of it. being sale day. It was eventually decided to play the Wairarapa senior representatives at Pahiatua on Tuesday, June 14, the Puketoi game being set down for Saturday, June 4. It was suggested that tho management committee should meet at Rugby Park to go into the question of adding another ground as tho New .Zealand Rugby Football Union had money available for ground improvement. The meeting decided to inspect the grounds on the date of the seven-a-side.
