Violet and Mauve Forms Distinctive Colour Scheme

GREEN—PHILLIPS A wedding of interest in the Manawatu celebrated on Easter Monday at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Palmerston North, was that of Margaret Agness Phillips, youngest daughter of Mr. J. C. Phillips and the late Mrs. Phillips, of Oamaru, to John Archibald Owen Green, son of Mrs. C. L. Green and the late Mr. Green, of Petone. The officiating clergyman was Rev. J. Hubbard, M.A. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely gown of deep violet georgette cut on slender lines. The gored skirt, which was fitting at the hips, fell away to ferm a graceful train. The bodice, fashioned with long sleeves, was finished with a Y-neckline and a spray of mauve \prango blossom. The unusual hat worn was of stiffened net in the same rich shade fashioned into a semi halo and trimmed with gold sequins. A bouquet petunias in shades of violet and mauve was the finishing touch. The bridesmaid, Miss E. Gardiner, of Pahiatua, niece of the bride, wore a pretty frock of floral mauve georgette finished with puff sleeves, Peter Pan collar and sash of deeper shade. She wore a gold trellis halo and gold shoes, and her bouquet was composed of violet and mauve petunias. The flower girl, Miss Noleen Phillips, niece of tho bride, wore an ankle length frock of stiffened mauve net, scalloped at tho bottom and finished with circular frills and sash of deeper shade. She also wore a gold trellis halo and her posy was of the same shades as the bridesmaid’s. . Dodds, sister of the bride, received the guests wearing a charming ensemble of navy blue and navy hat to match and spray of cyclamen. After the reception Mr. and Mrs. J. A.
