Presentation Afternoon
MISS WINIFRED SMITH HONOURED In view of her approaching marriage to Mr. lan Mackay, Miss Winifred Smith was the guest of honour at a very pleasant gift afternoon held at the Hopelands School yesterday afternoon. About forty of her friends were present and the many beautiful gifts she received revealed the affection in which she is held. Miss Smith suitably replied. The proceedings were informal, although a recitation by Mrs. Halpin was heard, Eileen O’Neil danced an Irish jig with great spirit, and her sister Rosalind a Highland fling, all of which were much enjoyed. A happy community sing with Mrs. Oxenham at the piano also contributed to the success of the occasion.
