From Our Own Cor: esDondent There was a lair attandance at the annual meeting of the Miniature Rifle Club, Mr F. Cox presiding. The chairman’s report showed that the club had enjoyed a successful season, and that a credit balance of iJ4 4s Ud was brought forward. The officers elected for the coming seaso:: were as follow: Patron, Mr A. H. Faulkner; president, Mr F. Cox; vice-presidents, Hon. J. G. Cobbe, Messrs. W. ±5, Duthie. J. McKenna, E. K. Ransom. O. Jackson, and J. Scheidt; secretary, Mr E. Bailey; auditor, Mr W. B. Duthie; club captain, and range officer, Mr H. Hughes; committee, Messrs H. Hughes, G. Grant, A. MeMurray, R. Osborne, A. Pederson, R. Faulkner and A. Rosenbrook; delegates to the M.M.A., Messrs E. Bailey and F. Cox. A vote of thanks was accorded the secretary and other officers for the good services rendered last year. School Committee. The monthly meeting of the school committee was held on Monday evening. Present were Messrs McKenzie (chair), A. O'Donnell, W. Andrew, W. Maxwell. OJackson (secretary), and the head master (Mr R. H. Abraham). The chairman reported on a meeting of the Combined Schools Association which he had attended as delegate. The head master reported a roll of S 3!) and an average attendance of 92. Mr Andrews reported that the work recently put in hand had been completed and the general appearance of the grounds was good considering the dry spell experienced. This being the last meeting prior to the householders’ meeting, the chairman thanked the Headmaster and stuff and also the committee for their support and co-operation during the past two years The headmaster and members of the committee replied, complimenting the chairman on his successful term of office. Proposed Hall Building. There was a fair attendance at the meeting convened by Messrs D. Heggie and W. Andrew, to consider the building of a new hall in place of the one recently destroyed by fire. -Mr Heggie was elected to the chair. Mr Clevely explained the position of the present Hall Company and assured them that so far as the local residents interested in the company were concerned, they would do their best m helping towards the new hall. After a general discussion the motion was put to the mee - ing that a new hall be built, and was carried unanimously. A committee was elected comprising Messrs D. Heggie, Andrew, A. H. Faulkner, J. Scheldt, J. Clevely, C. Anderson, W. Tomlinson, A. White! A. Gee, K. Comeron. W. Martin. G Guard U- Jackson, M. McMillan, H. Hughes and F. McKenzie with power’ to add. Mr J. Mr K Cameron had the misfortune to sustain further injury to his leg. when he accidently cut the same leg which he miured in a fall recently. The friends of Mrs W. B. Dutlue will regret to learn that she has suffered a further bereavement in the loss of her father, Mr B. Gray, of Feilding. Mrs puthie’s father and mother passed away within a month. _
