Second Smallpox Victim
OUTBREAK FEARED IN VICTORIA United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph.—Copyright Received Thursday, 1.5 a.m. PERTH, April 6. Miss Muriel Little has now been stricken with smallpox. She was a contact of the late Miss Adams, the passenger on the Strathaird who died from smallpox last week. Miss Little has been removed to quarantine and every precaution has been taken to safeguard the Nedlands neighbourhood where she resided. MELBOURNE, April 6. The city health officer, Doctor Rowan, opines that an outbreak of smallpox in Victoria is inevitable. He expects it came from India through Darwin by mail ’planes.
