Overcast and Humid Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. An anti-cyclone is now centred east of New Zealand. A depression is still located over the North Tasman Sea near Lord Howe Island, while a shallow westerly disturbance is approaching across the south Tasman. Winds: North-east to northerly, light to moderate generally but freshening about and south of Cook Strait. Seas (New Zealand waters): Moderate to rather rough north of East Cape elsewhere slight to moderate but rising later in the Cook and Foveaux Strait areas. Eastern Tasman: Light to moderate but freshening north-east to northerly winds, turning to southerlies or southeasterlies later in the southern portion; seas moderate mainly but rough in parts of the central and northern portions. Weather: Mainly cloudy to overcast and humid, with scattered rains in most districts but more especially northern and western. Temperatures: Still mild to warm. YESTERDAY’S WEATHER Auckland: Cloudy, light wind. Hamilton: Sunshine, calm. New Plymouth: Overcast, light wind Gisborne: Cloudy, light wind. Napier: Overcast, calm.
