IMPROVEMENT IN PRICES FOR . » LAMBS
The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report on the weekly sale held yesterday. There was a good attendance of the public, and bidding was quite keen throughout, and we disposed of a moderate yarding under the hammer as follows:
Sheep: Fat wethers, 275; fat and forward wethers,.2ls Id; woolly ewe lambs, 21s to 20s; shorn ewe lambs, 19s 4d, 18s 2d to 19s; woolly wether lambs, 15s lOd; medium wether lambs, 13s to 11s 6d. Cattle: Weaner Jersey heifers, £2 15s and £2 Is.
Pigs: Good weaners, 13s; medium sorts, 10s 6d, 9s; small weaners, 8s and 7s 6d; p.b. Tamworth sows (2mos), 14s; store pigs, 295. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on the weekly sale held yesterday when a fair yarding of sheep came forward and met with moderate competition. Values were as follow:—Mixed aged b.f. ewes, 18s Id; f.m. ewes, 14s 2d; b.f. lambs (small to medium), 11s 6d, 10s sd, 12s 9d, 12s 3d; w.w. lambs, 12s lid; cull ewes, 7s Id, 7s 3d; 2 and 4th wethers, 20s 3d, 23s 9d.
