Britain’s Lead in Gas-mask Production
DISTRIBUTION IN EMERGENCY United Press Association—By Electrlo Tfelejfraph.—Copyright. LONDON, April 4. The Daily Telegraph states that Great Britain, according to a high auth ority, is now far ahead of any other country in the production and planned distribution of gas masks, of which 30,000,000 are available, including a special device for babies. Tho respirators will not be issued to householders until an emergency arises, because suitable storage is essential.
The Home Office has circulated plans to local authorities for distributing a gas mask to everybody within eight hours. Air raid wardens will make a house to house canvass to ascertain the number and the sizes required.
