FURTHER SELECTIONS FOR SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION'S

WELLINGTON, Last Night.
A further group of candidates lias been selected for short service cominis sions in the Royal Air Force and one candidate for the New Zealand Air Force (reserve). The names of these candidates were announced this evening by the Minister of Defence (Hon. F. Jones). The following II candidates, who will undertake their initial training in New Zealand, reported to aero clubs on xYpril 1: G. W. F. Carey, Christchurch; J. C. Casey, New Plymouth; L. G .S. Cross, Timaru; C. McK. Hill, Christchurch; H. Keller, Dunedin; A. J. Macdonald, Auckland; I. C. Pat terson, Auckland: C. *F. Peacock, Morrinsviile; K. R. Sutton, Palmerston North; R. Troiove, Dunedin; G. J. D. l r orke, Foxton. G. K. Larney, of Wellington, has been appointed to the Royal New Zealand Air Force (reserve) and he reported to the Wellington Aero Club to undertake his initial trainiug on April 1. The following 18 candidates have been accepted for short service commissions, direct entry, and will sail from New Zealand to-day:—F. R. Ainley. Lauder; G. A. M. Baird, Wanganui; M. Berry, Christchurch; H. G. P. Blackmore, New Plymouth; B. L. Buchanan, Palmerston North; J. A. A. Gibson, Auckland; T. P. Gibson, Christchurch; J. W. Hamill, Oamaru; O. W. Holdsworth, Wellington; C. R. Hutton, Wellington; B. S. M. Jones, Wanganui; E. S. Knox, Ashburton; M. Mackenzie, Tai Tapu; R. C. Mathieson, Wellington; R. N. Nicholson, Christchurch; R. A. Reese, Christchurch; A. J. Skidmore, Christchurch; E. N. Steel, Wellington.
