Manchester Street School

MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE The Manchester Street School Committee, Feilding, met on Alonday night. Air. G. J. Fitzpatrick (chairman) pre siding. There were also present Alessrs J. Campbell, F. J. Goze (headmaster), P. Alaegaard, E. K. Alatthews, L. J. Carmine, Z. AlcLcod and Mrs. P. G. Guy. The headmaster reported that the roll stood at 375 with a good average attendance. The school was very grateful to Alessrs Alaegaard and Carmine for their work in having the boys’ playground levelled and resown. This work would be greatly appreciated by the children. It was the usual custom to hold the school ball following the O.P.A. ball, and the staff was preparing for this early in Alay. The headmaster acknowledged the splendid co-operation and efforts of the committee during the past year, saying the school might justly be satisfied with the improvements made, and he counted it a privilege and pleasure to have been associated with the ladies and gentlemen on the committee. The committee agreed to co-operate with the staff in the conduct of the school ball. A number of children had been passed for admission to the health camp, reported the headmaster. The girls would be taken almost immediately and the boys later.

The chairman reported on the recent conference with the Lytton Street Committee with regard to boundaries, a matter which had been adjusted in -i few minutes.
