j Hopes of Mr. Cordell Hull MEXICO WILL HONOUR OBLIGATIONS United Press Association—By Slectrlo Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Sunday, 7.10 p.m. WASHINGTON, April 1. The President of Mexico, General Cardenas, has assured the United States in a Note that Mexico will honour her obligations of to-day and yesterday. Mr. Hull expressed confidence that a rapid, satisfactory and equitable solution of the problem would be found. The New York Times understands that Mr. Roosevelt does not contemplate pressing for payment on the basis of the present valuations where properties were originally purchased at bargain rates. It is suggested that arbitration to determine the value may be contemplated. Mr. Rickett is reported to have secured a skeleton contract from President Cardenas for the purchase of oil.
