Mr. Victor Lloyd, of Wellington, has appointed to adjudicate i.t tlie Otago area drama festival, to lie held in Dunedin in July. Mr. Lloyd is a prominent radio sfrtist, and is wellknown as a dramatic writer. Xe acted in a similar capacity at the Drama League's festival in 1936. Mr. Cecil Wood, Christchurch, president of the New Zealand Institute of Architects, who is architect for the projected Anglican Cathedral at Wellington, will leave by the Rangitata next week on a visit to England and the Continent. He will be awfyp for about six months and probably will return through America.

Mr. E. A. Butterfield, district solicitor, Greymouth, has been transferred to Wellington, where he will take up a position as legal clerk in the .Public Trust Office. He joined the staff in 1925, after legal experience in Hawke’s Bay and Taranaki. His place at Greymouth will be taken by Mr. A. J. QuiJi, Wellington.

At a gathering on Thursday afternoon the Palmerston North gasworks employees made a presentation to Mr. T. Davidson, who is severing his connection with them. Mr. W. L. Cutteu, on behalf of the staff, presented Mr. Davidson with a crystal service set as a token of appreciation of his services as works fitter, and expressed regret that owing to staff reorganisation Mr. Davidson was leaving them.
