Mangahao School
ANNUAL PICNIC HELD The Mangahao school picnic was held in the Carnival Park, Pahiatua on Friday last. Great credit is due to the chairman (Mr. G. Allen) and the school committee for the excellent arrangements made. Children and parents enjoyed a very successful picnic. The following are the winners of the various sports events: Flat races, Std., 2 and under, Robert Walker 1, Basil Hansen 2; Std. 3 and over, Molly Allan 1, Dennis Beech 2; tyre races, girls, M. Allan 1, G. Allan 2; boys, G. Ross 1, W. Corkill 2, R. Hansen 3; potato race, girls, M. Allan 1, D. Corkill 2; boys, D. Beech 1, C. Eising 2; sack race, girls, D. Corkill 1, K. Eising 2; boys, G. Eising 1, B, Hansen 2 three-legged race, Margaret and Molly Allan 1, Grace Allan and Kath Eising 2; high jump, girls, K. Eising 1, G. Allan 2; boys, D. Beech 1, G. Ross 2, C. Eising 3; egg and spoon race, girls, G. Allan 3, D. Corkill 2; wheel-barrow race, D. Boech and C. Eising 1, G. Ross and B. Hansen 2; single ladies ’ race, Miss M. Bibby 1, Miss D.
