Cloudy to Overcast 'if " Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The pressure is high over New Zcu land and an intense anti-cyclone is centred east of the South Island. The cyclonic depression in the south-west Tasman yesterday has moved onjv slowly south-eastward. Winds; South-easterly at first about Cook Strait, otherwise north-east to northerly prevailing, light to moderate generally but freshening about aud south of Cook Strait. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough in Cook and Foveaux Straits and rising south of Castlepoint, elsewhere slight to moderate but a considerable swell on the east coast ol : the South Island. Eastern Tasman: Northerly winds, light to moderate but especially in the southern portion; a heavy swell in the central and southern portions; otherwise slight to moderate, but rising seas. Weather: Cloudy to overcast and in places misty or foggy, but otherwise mainly fine; some scattered drizzling rain probable, however, especially m eastern and southern districts. Temperatures mild.
