Mr and Mrs A. A. McDonnell, Masterton, have returned from a holiday spent at Paraparaumu Beach.

After an absence of eighteen months spent at Lower Hutt Miss Verna Easton has returned to her home at Buckley, Shannon.

Miss Beth Parkes, of Feilding, who for the past several weeks has been assisting Miss Phyllis Bates at her dancing tudio in Wellington, has returned home to re-open her own dancing studio in Palmerston North.

A motion of sympathy with Mrs F. J Nathan, a vice-president of the club in her recent bereavement was passed by members of tho Business Girls' Club at their fortnightly luncheon yesterday, members standing in silnee as a mark of respect.

At the annual meeting of All Saints' branch of the Mothers' Union yesterday sympathy was expressed with. Mrs. H. Rowse, a member who is in tho New Plymouth Hospital as the result of an accident, the secretary being authorised to write to Mrs. Rowse conveying good wishes for her speedy return to health.

Mr. F. G. Major, manager of the Palmerston North branch of the Bank of New Zealand, and Mrs. Major, leave for Wellington this morning and sail by the Wanganella for Sydney where they will join the Orcades en route for the Old Country. They expect to be away about six months.
