At the recent Pahiatua Borough Council meeting Cr. Siddells stated that the baths committee would like to recommend closing the baths as from March 26, saying that the revenue was practically nil at present. After the closing of the baths, the local Swimming Club will be granted permission to control them if they so desire. Cr. Carthew at tho meeting of tho Borough Council asked that the council should seek facilities for a same day savings bank ledger system in Pahiatua, while Cr. Sturton further requested that a public telephone booth be erected at both tho north and south ends of the town.
