The Chinese Consul has received the following cablegram from Hankow: The Chinese air force bombed Nanking and destroyed at least ten enemy planes. Another squadron bombed enemy troop trains near Limweikwan which suffered considerable damage. West of Siuyuan the Chinese troops are advancing eastwards and pressing on to Paotow. Although the enemy captured the Tung-Pu railway there is still severe fighting in various parts of Shansi, and at Kiaochen and Wenshui, south-west of Taiyuan, Chinese troops inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy. West of Shansi the enemy repeatedly attempted to cross the river into Shansi but without success. The Chinese have recaptured Paoteh in the north-west of Shansi. There are cow no Japanese troops at Liulim and Jikkow on the cast bank of the river. The Japanese shelled the Lungh&i railway from the northern bank of the Yellow river but made no attempt to cross. Yesterday there was severe fighting at Puchau. South of Shantung Chinese troops on the right flank recaptured Monyim, near Yenchow. Both north and south of the Kow Tsai railway Chinese mobile forces re captured the Lintze, Kwongyao, Shoukwong, Changshan, Yidoo and Hunshau districts. NO ONE WANTS THE JOB PREMIERSHIP IN PUPPET GOVERNMENT SHANGHAI, March 13. Owing to the assassination of the Japanese nominee, General Chow Fengchi, no other candidate is offering for the Premiership of the puppet Government of Central China. Its proclamation, which was arranged for March 16, has therefore been indefinitely post poned.
