Dixon Cup Bowls

WIN FOR PAHIATUA DANNEVIRKE ’S VISIT ( On Saturday the Pahiatua Bowling Club wrested the coveted Dixon Cup from Oroua, at Oroua, beating the holders by 21—20 after a very thrilling game. The rinks were: Pahiatua, Murphy, Mills, Kershaw and A. W. Bisset (s.); Oroua, Guthrie, Law, Telford, Pitman (s.). The Pahiatua Club had a visit from. l Dannevirke on Saturday, when eight rinks were the guests of the local bowlers. A match for the Oxley Cup was played during the afternoon, resulting in a narrow win for Pahiatua, who thus retained the trophy.
