Lady Cricketers Draw With Wanganui

ENJOYABLE OUTING A party of 30—players and supporters of the Palmerston North “Kowliai’ : Ladies’ Cricket Club—journeyed tc Wanganui last Saturday by ’bus to play a team from the Wanganui Ladies Cricket Club. The match, which resulted in a draw, was played at Gonville Park tho wicket being hard and fast. A Wilson (Wanganui) showed fine form, playing a good straight bat right through, and D. Lockett (Wanganui) bowling an excellent length, collected three wickets for one run, while the Wanganui captain, stepping across tc play a straight ball from the “Ivowhai” captain, went out second ball. D. Kingsbeer ('lvowhai”) played excellent cricket and made top score foi her team. Wanganui’s bowling was very good and the home team’s fielding was worthy of mention.
