MEETING OF COMMITTEE Mr. J. G. Brechin presided over the meeting of the committee of the Mangamutu Tennis Club. There were also present Mrs. A. J. Morgan and Messrs. T. Burr, L. Hamilton, D. O’Brien, V. Brown and E. Broughton. The preliminary statement of costs in connection with the laying down of two new courts was presented, it being revealed that the club had been put to an additional expenditure of some £lO above the estimate, the same allowing for considerable extra work done. The total estimated cost of tho courts was £215, of which the domain board was giving £l3O. The accounts were duly passed for payment and tho chairman undertook to guarantee the club’s overdraft at the bank when the account is opened. It was agreed to notify the Mangamutu Domain Board that the courts were finished to the satisfaction of the club.

It was decided to end the second round of the championships on March 20 and matches unplayed after this date will be forfeited.

The question of the Badger cup competitions was brought up, when it was mentioned that the club was holding the trophy and was anxious to have it played for this season. It was decided to instruct the club's delegates on the Badger cup competitions to take steps to have the competition got under way. The matter of holding ah Easter tournament was deferred until next year owing to the difficulty of obtaining sufficient assistance and the lack of interest of members.
